Steven Kozar I LOVE this album! All I want to do is keep playing it. Incredibly catchy, inventive and emotionally compelling composing, terrific musicianship, superb recording quality... wow! I bought the CD and if it had cost me $300 that would have been a fair price. Favorite track: Rush.

about

Midwest-based trumpeter and composer Paul Dietrich releases the first album of his original large ensemble jazz compositions, Forward. Featuring world-renowned drummer Clarence Penn (Maria Schneider, Dave Douglas) and a band of some of the Midwest's very best jazz musicians, Dietrich's debut has been called "stunningly beautiful" (Audiophile Audition) and "the most significant new orchestral jazz to come out of the Midwest in quite a while" (Kevin Lynch, formerly of the Milwaukee Journal).
